Fukuoka’s contemporary art mapping project is in progress
Fukuoka Art Tips is working to produce a fully bilingual (Japanese/English) Fukuoka contemporary art guide and illustrated map. Fukuoka Contemporary Art Map 2009 will be published in September in time for Fukuoka’s busy art season. It will provide information on the city’s signature events, namely the 4th Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale 2009 and the 30th anniversary of the founding of Fukuoka Art Museum, as well as giving details on contemporary art exhibitions, film screenings and dance performances to be held at local museums and galleries from September to November 2009.
Fukuoka Contemporary Art Map 2009 will be made possible through donations of ¥12,000* per individual or group; we would be most appreciative if you were interested in supporting us. There is also a half price plan: please contact us for further information. Upon request we will acknowledge donors’ names in the printed material and on the website.
*In 2009 the government paid every resident in Japan ¥12,000 for economic stimulation purposes.
